priest who went missing during Kumbh Mela returns home
Chikkamagaluru: In a remarkable turn of events, a priest from Karnataka who had gone missing during the Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, in January this year, has returned home after six long months.
The priest, Narasimhamurthy from Tangali village in Kadur taluk, had travelled to the religious gathering along with his family and son Badarinath. On January 28, while at the crowded venue of the Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Narasimhamurthy got separated from his family and went missing.
Despite extensive searches by his son for several days in Prayagraj, there were no leads. Badarinath eventually returned to Karnataka with his family and made another trip back to Prayagraj to resume the search, but to no avail.
Now, after six months, Narasimhamurthy has finally returned home. He was found to have been in a helpless condition and had ended up at the Sharada Rehabilitation Centre in Mumbai, which took him under its care. With the assistance of the rehabilitation center, he was finally able to reunite with his family.
Narasimhamurthy serves as the priest at the Channakeshava Swamy temple in Tangali village. His unexpected return has brought immense relief and joy to his family and the local community.
