Chitradurga: 1 dead, 3 critical after bus overturns near Holalkere

Chitradurga: A private bus traveling from Hosdurga to Davanagere carrying a wedding entourage overturned near Avinahatti, in Holalkere taluk on Saturday evening.

The accident occurred while the bus was en route from Sigehatti village in Hosdurga taluk to Davanagere.

A  40-year-old man named Manjunath lost his life on the spot, and three others sustained serious injuries in the incident. The injured have been rushed to Holalkere Public Hospital.

The bus, heading from Hosarga towards Holalkere, veered out of control, colliding with an electric pole before overturning. Passengers who were trapped underneath the bus were rescued and taken to the hospital.

Three electric poles snapped due to the impact. The accident spot falls under the Holalkere police station limits.
