Chitradurga: Nine people were arrested from the district’s Saraswathihatti for parading a man, alleged to have stolen cattle, naked on a donkey.

The incident occurred on August 21. The victim has been identified as Eshwar (35).

Balanna, a resident of Saraswathihatti village, had not seen his bulls from the night of August 19. A few residents from the village reported the next day that they saw the bulls with Eshwar from a neighbouring village trying to sell them.

They later brought Eshwar and the bulls to Saraswathihatti, tied him to a pillar, attacked him, stripped him and paraded him on a donkey.

Police arrived on the spot and based on details from Eshwar arrested nine people.

Eshwar is now admitted to a hospital in Hiriyur town.
