Chitrapura Mutt pontiff passes away

Mangaluru: The pontiff of Sri Durgaparameshwari Temple, Chitrapura Mutt, Sri Vidyavallabhartirtha Swamiji breathed his last at a private hospital in the city on Wednesday evening. He was 80.
The Swamiji was being treated for kidney ailments at the hospital.
He was the 18th pontiff to the mutt and had assumed charge of the Mutt from his predecessor Vidyapoorna Swamiji in the year 1962.
