Cisco has announced it is buying network intelligence startup ThousandEyes, which has raised more than $110 million in funding
San Francisco-based ThousandEyes has raised more than $100 million in venture capital to develop software that monitors how a company’s applications are being used on the internet.
The startup aims to help IT teams see what’s braking or slowing down the paths that their websites, applications or services take to get to their end users, so they can either reroute or get the problem fixed before it impacts their customers.
Mohit Lad, co-founder and CEO of ThousandEyes said they used the features of Cisco’s Webex video calling service to do the deal, including rooms where a few people can split off from the larger group and keep the conversation going. Webex has become more widely used in recent months with people working from home.
Sources claim, Cisco expects the deal to close before the end of its fiscal first quarter, which begins in August.
