Bengaluru: CM Siddaramaiah asked the officers of the legislature not to spend much on the diamond jubilee celebrations of the Vidhana Soudha.
CM directed this in the wake of the controversy over legislature secretariat’s plan to organise a grand celebration for the occasion.
The estimate cost of the celebration was Rs.26.87 cr and the CM asked them to keep it within 10 cr. With this, the plan to gift expensive items to the lawmakers during the celebrations has been dropped.
The secretariat had planned a two-day programme on October 25 and 26. CM asked to organize it only for one day i.e 25 October.
