New Delhi: Congress on Friday accused the BJP of playing the “photo op” game and breaching the privacy of former Prime Minister’s privacy at AIIMS.

Congress demanded an apology from Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya for clicking a picture while visiting former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in the hospital.

Party’s chief spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala took to Twitter to express his unhappiness over the “ugly PR stunt” and the general “absence of basic decency.”

“Everything is a ‘Photo Op’ for BJP. Shame on Health Minister, who made a visit to meet Former PM in AIIMS, a ugly ‘PR Stunt’

“This is… Negation of every ethical norm, Breach of EX PM’s privacy, Insult of established tradition, Reflects absence of basic decency. Apologise Now!” the tweet read.

Reports said that the former prime minister’s family members have also raised objections to the photo.

Mandaviya on October 14 had visited the AIIMS, Delhi to enquire about the health condition of Dr. Manmohan Singh.

The former prime minister was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday with complaints of weakness and fever.

Meanwhile, reports said that AIIMS said that his condition is improving.

An AIIMS official told IANS that Singh’s health condition was “improving now from the infection caused by fever”.
