Bengaluru: The Congress party, on Friday, suspended the membership of Yusuf Sharif alias KGF Babu following his “anti-party” remarks.
KGF Babu had, on Friday, said that Congress would not get 80 seats in the upcoming Karnataka Assembly Elections.
Congress leader Manohar had taken an exception to this and vehemently opposed Babu’s statement. “It is not right to speak like this at the Congress office,” he said, referring to KGF Babu’s remarks.
Following this, KPCC president DK Shivakumar is said to have ordered Babu’s ouster.
The KPCC disciplinary committee chief Rahman Khan issued orders expelling KGF Babu for his “anti-party remarks.” KGF Babu had not responded to three show-cause notices issued earlier.
KJF Babu, who unsuccessfully contested the Legislative Council elections on a Congress ticket in 2021, had declared assets worth Rs 1,741 crore. After the defeat in the council elections, KGF Babu, who was eyeing the assembly elections, had started work in the Chickpet constituency.
