Bengaluru: The Congress party leaders in Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts are eyeing the 2019 parliamentary elections.
If sources are to be believed, Former ministers, B Ramanath Rai, Vinay Kumar Sorake and Pramodh Madhwaraj are willing to contest from Dakshina Kannada and Udupi-Chikkamagaluru parliamentary segments.
Ramanath Rai was seen expressing desire to take on DK’s sitting MP Nalin Kumar Kateel in 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
However, the KPCC has not yet finalised on the candidates. On August 3, the board has called for a meeting to discuss on probable candidates for 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
Pramod Madhwaraj and Sorake are vying for Udupi-Chikkamagaluru constituency while sitting MP Shobha Karandalaje has expressed her unwillingness to contest polls from this constituency.
