Bengaluru: Around six MLAs from the Congress party have allegedly gone underground amids intense poaching efforts by the BJP party.
The situation has reportedly reached a flashpoint even after Congress General Secretary in charge of Karnataka, K.C. Venugopal and Siddaramaiah tried to assuage the feelings of the Jarkiholi brothers. The rebels, along with other MLAs, however seem to be determined to go ahead with their plan of action.
If rumours are to be believed, some MLAs are likely to quit the Assembly and join the BJP for some reasons.
Sources claim that Congress leaders from the North Karnataka region are unhappy with Water Resources Minister D.K. Shivakumar consolidating his position in the party, have secretively lend their support to Jarkiholi.
These leaders have also claimed that they have not been benefited in any way after the new JD(S)-Congress government has been formed. This has apparently moved them to support the Jarkiholi group.
