Mangaluru: The Prajadhvani Yatra, which has begun in Belagavi, will reach Mangaluru on January 22, said Congress District President Harish Kumar at a press conference here.
On this occasion a massive public conference will be held at the Karavali Utsava ground where senior Congress leaders will be in attendance, he said.
The ‘Prajadhwani’ event will be held in Udupi in the morning on January 22. Later, Congress senior leaders will arrive in Mangaluru via bus. They will be given a grand escort from Lalbagh to the venue, he said.
Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, KPCC President D.K. Sivakumar, leaders Roji John, M.B. Patil, Salim Mohammed, Madhu Bangarappa, R Dhruvanarayana, H.K. Patil, and others will participate.
Congress workers from all 1,860 booths will arrive for the event. About 25 to 30 thousand workers will participate, he said.
The Center has cheated the state by not giving its due share in GST, and the state government has broken the backs of the farmers with its policies. No schemes are being implemented to supplement the farmers, he alleged.
‘Prajadhwani Yatra’ was organized to expose the failures of the “double-engine government”, he said.
