Lockdown 2.0: Eight K’taka districts, including Dakshina Kannada identified as hotspots

Bengaluru: The Union Health ministry on Wednesday has identified eight districts from Karnataka as Covid-19 hotspots.
Districts which have reported a higher number of cases are classified as hotspots, the districts where cases have been reported as non-hotspots, and green zones where no cases have been reported.
Bangalore Urban, Mysuru, Belagavi, Dakshin Kannada, Bidar, Kalaburgi, Bagalokote and Dharwad have been identified as Covid-19 hotspots by Union Health Ministry, tweeted the state health department on Wednesday

These are :
Bangalore Urban
Mysore
Belagavi
Dakshin Kannada
Bidar
Kalaburgi
Bagalokote

A total of 71 cases has been detected in Bengaluru Urban of which 34 are active and there has been two deaths. Mysuru too accounts for 58 cases followed by Belagavi and Kalaburgi with 19 and 17 cases respectively. Kalaburagi district has reported three deaths due to Covid 19 infection.
Dakshina Kannada reported 12 cases of which 9 have been discharged and three are undergoing treatment.
A total of 279 cases have been detected in state till date, including 12 deaths and 80 discharges.
