Covid-19: What is ‘Arsenicum album 30’, a homeopathic drug endorsed by Ayush Ministry?

Arsenicum Album-30 are in high demand after the AYUSH Ministry declared it a preventive against Coronavirus disease a few weeks ago. It is known to treat a range of symptoms such as insomnia, digestive disorders, allergies, anxiety and even depression

Ayush Ministry has directed all the institutions under it to distribute the medicine as a preventive measure from the infection. It should be given in the prescribed dose as per central ministry’s protocol.

The Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy(CCRH) met on January 28, 2020 for the 64th meeting of its Scientific Advisory Board after which they suggested methods to tackle Coronavirus.

They suggested that the Arsenicum album 30 which is made with solutions of arsenic trioxide on an empty stomach for three days. This was the suggestion that the AYUSH ministry issued along with a few unani, and ayurvedic medicines.

Each person has to take four pills of Arsenicum Album once daily in empty stomach for three days as a preventive measure.

It is said that A 10ml vial of Arcenicum Album comes in the price range of Rs 30 and Rs 50.  The compound is sold in tinctures, powder and tablets.

However, there are no scientific research supporting that these tablets will help in preventing the recent outbreak of Covid-19.
