Cricket skilling camp for the blind inaugurated at Samarthanam Trust

Bengaluru: A cricket skilling camp for the blind was inaugurated on August 16 at the Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled Bangalore.
Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled Bangalore, with support from Unisys, is implementing the camp in association with Cricket Association for the Blind in India at its campus.
The trust said that the project aims to reach out to 320 cricketers across India including those from Karnataka, Maharashtra, Delhi, Haryana, Pondicherry, Chennai, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana.
Along with rigorous cricket coaching, the visually-impaired cricketers are also trained in digital and financial literacy, basic computer skills, and life skills, it added.
The leadership team from Unisys distributed cricket training kits to the players.
Mrs. Vasanti Savanur- Trustee Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled, Mr. Shivaram Deshpande – COO Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled, Ms. Sumita Datta, Mr. Timmy, Mr. Som, and Mr. Bharathi from Unisys were present during the inauguration.
