Customs officials seize gold valuing over Rs 31 lakh at MIA

Mangaluru: Customs officials at Mangaluru International Airport arrested one person for gold smuggling.
The arrested is identified as Mohammed Harshad, a resident of Bengre Kasaba. He was carrying gold by way of concealment in his body.
Gold in powder form mixed with gum, of 664 grams valued Rs Rs. 31,73,920/- was seized.
The Customs team was led by Praveen Kandi IRS, Deputy Commissioner, and active roles played by officers Naresh Kumar BM, Superintendent, and Bikram Chakraborty, Superintendent, and others.
