Deaf ICC World Cup 2022: Prithviraj Shetty among the tentative players

Kundapura: Prithiviraj Shetty Hunchani hailing from Kollur is among the list of 41 players shortlisted for the 2022 Deaf ICC World Cup.
The final selection of the 16-member squad, will be held in October but the list of 41 finalists has already been announced, in which 30 y/o Prithviraj has made it to the list.
Prithviraj has expressed confidence in his selection to the Indian team. Along with him Karnataka’s Ansel Pinto and Shoaib Mohammed have been selected.
Prithviraj, hailing from Golihole near Kollur is the second son of the couple Subhashchandra Shetty and Srilata Shetty.
Despite the hearing impairment, Prithviraj didn’t stop following his passion for cricket. He studied at Vagjyoti special kids school and is a graphic designer by profession. He left his graphic designing job to pursue cricket as a career.
He’s not only a fast bowler but also has experience as a lower-order batsman. Currently, he is a player in the Karnataka deaf and dumb cricket team. He has also served as a team captain of the very team earlier.
He has shown his skills in the National Level cricket tournament held at Delhi, earlier this year, which caught the attention of his selection into the Deaf ICC World Cup.
Speaking to Udayavani, Prithviraj Shetty thanked everyone who supported him and said that his dream is finally going to come true.
