Depressed by wife’s death, ex-army man poisons his four children, commits suicide

Belagavi: In a tragic incident , a 46-year-old former army man allegedly committed suicide after posioning his four children in Boragal village of Hukkeri Taluk here on Saturday, the police said.

The deceased have been identified as Gopala Doddappa Hadimani (46), Soumya Gopala Madevi(19), Swathi Gopala ( (16), Sakshi Gopala (12) and Srajan Gopala (10).

The incident came to light today but it is suspected that they committed suicide on Friday.

Gopala’s relatives stated that he was suffering from depression following the death of his wife, Jaya due to Black Fungus disease

Sankeshwara Police visited the spot and registered case.
