Derogatory post against Muslim women: BJP worker held

Raichur: Police have arrested a BJP activist in connection with a derogatory WhatsApp post against Muslim women.

The accused, Raju Tambake, a BJP activist from Lingasugur town had on his WhatsApp status put up a post depicting ‘Muslim women as machines for producing babies’.

As the post went viral, several Muslims staged a protest in front of the police station on Thursday night demanding immediate arrest of the accused.

DSP Venugopal pacified the protestors and assured them of action against the accused.

A case has been registered against Raju and he was arrested by the police at 3 am.
