Did not use airstrike politically: Lekhi

Mangaluru: BJP is not using the airstrike by the Indian Air Force (IAF) politically. But the opposition it trying to make it political even though they know the details of the operation, said BJP national spokesperson Meenakshi Lekhi speaking to reporters at the circuit house on Sunday March 3rd.

India has shown retaliation after the Pulwama attack. A strong answer has been given to terrorists and Pakistan through this. This has not been seen politically by BJP. But the opposition is making it political by blaming BJP, she said.

The release of Abhinandan is an important victory for the country. During the 1971 war, it was not possible for the then government to release 54 officers and 71 soldiers captured in Pakistan, she said.

The Karnataka CM’s statement that the celebration of the operation may lead to communal friction is shameful. By giving such a statement the CM has overlooked the strength of the people of India, she said.

BSY’s statements personal

“Yeddyurappa’s statement was his personal opinion and not the statement of the BJP. Meanwhile, BJP stands by its statement that in the time of need, our leadership will take the call which favours the nation,” said Lekhi.

Proof for the opposition’s mindset: Shobha

MP Shobha Karandlaje spoke with the reporters at circuit house on the occasion and said, the country is feeling proud of the operation. But the evidence being asked by the opposition shows the state of their minds. Congress is misusing this as an election topic, she alleged.
