Dr Ravindranath Shanbhag suffers heart attack; Hospitalised

  Udupi: Human Rights Protection Foundation president and Senior Citizens Protection Act, activist Dr Ravindranath Shanbhag has been hospitalized here after he suffered a heart attack.

Ravindranath was admitted to the Intensive care Unit of Kasturba Medical College, Manipal after he complained of chest pain on Thursday.

He underwent angioplasty and is under observation at the super-specialty block of the hospital.

Since 1980s, Shanbhag has been actively participating in the Human rights justice programs nation wide and has also been fighting for the implementation of the Senior Citizens Protection Act since several years.

Shanbhag’s campaign against the Endoulphan led for its ban in the year 2011.
