Driver dies after beer-laden truck crashes into electric pole; locals flee with bottles

Srirangapatna: A truck driver died on the spot after his vehicle crashed into an electric pole on the Bengaluru-Mysuru highway near Gowripura village in the taluk.
The deceased has been identified as Elumalai (60), a native of Tamil Nadu.
The truck, laden with beer bottles was headed towards Mysuru from Bengaluru. The locals upon knowing that it was a beer-laden truck seized the opportunity and took away the bottles.
Srirangapatna police visited the spot and conducted an investigation.
