Drunken retired SP who caused accident arrested; released

Kadri: The retired SP Mitra Heraje who drove his car in a drunken stupor on the wrong side and injured two scooterists late night on January 26, Saturday was arrested and later released.

In the incident which took place near Battagudda at around 11.30 pm on Saturday night, Latish Kumar and Nitish from Dambel, Ashoknagar who were riding a scooter were injured when drunken Heraje’s car knocked them down. Both the injured are hospitalised. 

A case under IPC Section 279 and 338 has been booked against Mitra Heraje by the Traffic East Police.
