Bengaluru: Police reportedly unearthed a factory that packaged fake products of popular brands that were sold to shops in Bengaluru.
The CCB police raided the factory in Kaggadasapura, East Bengaluru on Monday based on a tip-off, DHNS reported.
As per the report, the factory manufactured counterfeit Godrej Good Knite mosquito vaporizer refill bottles and Surf Excel detergent powder sachets, whose packaging was almost identical to the original products. These products were sold to retail shops in areas around Whitefield.
During the raid, police confiscated spurious products worth Rs 5 lakh and registered a case against Mahesh R, a businessman from Rajasthan who allegedly set up and ran the factory for the past 6 months, the report added.
There are suspicions that Mahesh might have been running a similar factory elsewhere before relocating to Ksggadasapura.
