Fani fear reduces: Fishing unaffected

Kundapur: With the forecast predicating the cyclone Fani in Bay of Bengal to be moving in the north-east direction causing no ill-effect to the southern coast, fishing in the undivided districts has continued without fear. Yet, the Fisheries and Weather Department have nonetheless advised the fishermen to be careful.

On Thursday, boats from all areas including Mangaluru, Hejmady, Malpe, Shiroor and Gangolli weighed anchor and sailed out on a fishing expedition. But, since the amount of fish that can be caught during this period is less, most of the boats have chosen to remain anchored at the ports.
