Farmers, activists protest outside Belgaum airport

Belgaum: The Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa has arrived in the city on Tuesday to conduct the aerial survey of 5 north Karnataka districts that are affected by the heavy rains and the farmers’ union and activists protested near the main gate of The Belgaum Airport.
The farmers protested against the amendment of the Land Reform act and the APMC act and expressed anger against the state and central government.
Yediyurappa would be conducting the aerial survey of Vijayapura and Bagalkot districts affected by the floods and heavy rains in the Krishna, Ghataprabha and Malaprabha rivers.
The Chief Minister met the officials Dharwad and Belgaum districts at the Belgaum airport in the morning and learned about the damage caused by the floods in both the districts.
Deputy Chief Minister Lakshmana Sawadi, District In-charge Ramesh Sreedharan, Jagadish Siddharth, Revenue Minister R Ashoka, and others were present on the occasion.
