Fire at Baikampady’s spring factory; losses in crores

Baikampady: A fire at a spring factory here on Friday, January 8 burned down crores of rupees of property.

The accident happened at a state-of-the-art robot unit of the factory at 7 pm on Friday. Immediately the local MFC, Kadri fire station personnel rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire after one and a half hour.

It is believed that the stock of about 90,000 litres of furnace oil caused the fire to increase.

During the incident, the night shift labourers were working in the factory, however, no casualties were reported.

Senior officials of the company operating the factory visited the site.
