Mangaluru: Former president of the Dakshina Kannada Youth Congress unit Mithun Rai has expressed his outrage over many local leaders allegedly disliking COVID-19 relief work done by Muslims and Islamic organisations.
Recently many funeral of Hindus who died of COVID-19 were conducted by Islamic orgnisation as per Vedic tenets.
This did not sit well with many in the district including organisation such as Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal.
Rai angrily stated that during such a crisis religious and other differences must not come in the way of humanitarian actions.
“We must unitedly fight against the pandemic and work towards getting more medical oxygen and ICU bed for the district,” he said.
