A group of Congress workers in Koratagere town gathered outside the local police station on Saturday, demanding the immediate arrest of the miscreants responsible for pelting stones at former Deputy Chief Minister Dr. G. Parameshwar during a Congress campaign event.
The incident took place during a procession in Byrenahalli circle under Holavanahalli Hobali Arasapur village, Koragere taluk on Friday evening.
MLA Dr. G. Parameshwar expressed his anger towards the government and police department, demanding that the culprit be brought to justice.
Tumkur KPCC campaign committee district president Rayasandra Ravikumar echoed this sentiment, urging the state government to form a special team to conduct an investigation and make an immediate arrest. He warned that if any harm comes to Parameshwar, the district administration will be held responsible.
The protest was attended by several Congress leaders and workers, including District President Chandrashekar Gowda, Koratagere Block Congress President Ashwathtanarayan, and Youth President Byresh, among others.
