Founder of GK Decorators, Ganesh Kamath, dies of heart attack

Moodabidri: Ganesh Kamath, a businessman and founder of GK Garden City in Padumarnad, passed away due to a heart attack on March 3 at the age of 48. Kamath is survived by his wife and daughter.

Kamath was known for his contributions to the community as the founder president of Moodbidire Unit Shamiyana Owners Association and its current Honorary President.

Kamath had previously lost both his hands in an electrocution accident in 2001 while working on the lighting system for a cricket tournament in Karkala. However, Kamath persevered and was gifted with artificial hands by the Moodbidire Rotary Foundation, allowing him to lead a fulfilling life.

Kamath’s entrepreneurial spirit was evident through the founding and leadership of his company, GK Decorators, which employed several people. His resilience and hard work were recognized by many organizations, and he was honored for his contributions to the community.

Prominent individuals, including MLA Umanath Kotian, Former Minister Abhayachandra Jain, President of Alvas Education Foundation Dr. M. Mohan Alva, and BJP D.K. District President Sudarshan M., expressed their condolences over Kamath’s passing. District President of Shamiya Owners Association Babu KV also offered his sympathies.
