Madikeri: The State government along with the Karnataka text book society on Wednesday distributed textbooks for free to the students at Kodagu district.

The Karnataka Text Book Society had issued a direction to the DDPI, Kodagu, on Monday, to distribute textbooks to the children affected by the floods at the district. “Since students lost their books in the flood, the BEOs of every block in Kodagu are hereby directed to distribute free books to all the children,” the order said.

The Karnataka Text Book Society has already supplied 33,980 textbooks on Saturday. Few more books would be distributed.
