Gold concealed in ladies hair bands seized at M’luru airport

Custom officials at Mangaluru International Airport busted two separate cases of gold smuggling and seized gold weighing 465.33 grams valuing over Rs 22 lakh from two passengers here.
In the first case, the passenger, hailing from Kasargod who had arrived from Dubai via AI Express flight No IX 384 was found smuggling 350.330 grams gold, valuing Rs 16,85,087, concealed in armature portion of a blender along with other personal effects.
In the second case, officials seized 115 grams gold worth Rs 5,58,900 from a male passenger, hailing from Murudeshwar who had arrived from Dubai via AI Express flight No IX 384. The passenger had concealed gold inside ladies hair bands.

The operations were conducted under the guidance of Shri Imamuddin Ahmad, Commissioner and Shri Joaneness George C, Joint Commissioner and under supervision of Shri Vasudeva Naik D, Assistant Commissioner.
Investigations are ongoing in both cases.
