Gold worth Rs 5 lakh smuggled in press button of burkha seized at M’luru airport

Customs officers at Mangaluru International airport seized 100 gms of 24 carat gold valued at Rs 5.34 lakhs from a passenger flying in from Dubai.
The passenger had attempted to smuggle the gold in the form of small ring shaped circular split washer type objects concealed in the press button of ladies burkha.
The incident took place on April 14.
