Goods train derails near Dudhsagar; Rail traffic on Londa-Vasco route disrupted

Panaji: A goods train derailed near Tunnel No. 15 between Sonavalim and Dudhsagar on the Londa-Vasco-da-Gama rail route under the South Western Railway division on Friday around 10:30 AM.
As a result, train operations on this route have been suspended. Several train journeys have been canceled, and some routes have been altered.
The coal-laden freight train was headed towards Karnataka when it derailed near Tunnel No. 15 between Dudhsagar and Sonavalim at around 10:30 AM. Reports indicate that 17 wagons derailed, with one coach falling into a valley.
Railway officials rushed to the spot immediately after the incident.
The derailment has caused extensive damage to the railway track, and repairs are expected to take time.
The Vasco da Gama–Tirupati–Hyderabad Weekly Express, which usually travels via this route, has been diverted via the Madgaon–Karwar–Padil Subrahmanya route.
The Vasco da Gama–Hazrat Nizamuddin Express will now operate via Roha and Panvel.
Additionally, the Yeshwantpur–Vasco train scheduled for today has been canceled.
