Hassan: Murder accussed resists arrest; police fire shots

Hassan: An incident of police firing occurred at Channarayapatna taluk when murder accused refused the police’s plea to surrender.

The incident occurred on the morning of Tuesday, September 1.

The accused Prasad was hiding in a poultry farm. When DCBI Inspector Vinay approached to arrest him, Prasad tried to stab Vinay with a knife.

As a result, Inspector Sidarameshwar, who accompanied Vinay fired from his gun. The accused Prasad was shot in the knee and was rushed to the HIMS Hospital here.

Inspector Vinay has been admitted to KIMS Hospital for treatment from the knife injury to his left hand.

Prasad was arrested on charges of murdering an elderly couple for money. The search for the three other accused in Alongadanahalli murder case is still ongoing. The accused were said to have arrived from Bengaluru a month ago.
