Heavy rain with lightning, thunder lashes Dakshina Kannada, Udupi

Mangaluru/Udupi: Many parts of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts received good rain with lightning, thunder on early morning Monday, May 18.

Bantwal, Beltangady, Karkala, Siddapur in Kundapur taluk, and many parts of the Udupi district have been received heavy rains. Thunder accompanied by heavy winds were also experienced.

Meanwhile, Yellow alert has been issued in coastal Karnataka till May 19 morning.

The meteorological department has attributed this phenomenon to the low-pressure area formed over the Bay of Bengal.
