Hebri chain snatching case: Accused held within 2 days, stolen gold recovered

Hebri: Police have arrested a man in connection with the theft of a gold chain from an elderly woman in Perdur.

The accused has been identified as Ullas Shetty. He has been remanded to judicial custody.

The theft incident took place two days ago, The victim Girija Shetty, a resident of Perdur, was washing utensils outside her house when the accused covered her face with a cloth, snatched the gold chain, weighing 25 grams and valued at Rs 88,000 from her neck and fled the spot.

Police have recovered the stolen chain from his possession.

A team of police personnel under the guidance of Dr. Arun K., Additional Superintendent of Police Siddalingappa participated in the operation.
