Mangaluru: The state home department has decided to provide police security to former minister and Mangaluru constituency MLA UT Khader after intel input hinting at a threat to his life.

It is gathered that Farhan Pasha, the man who attempted to murder Congress leader Tanveer Sait had revealed that UT Khader faces a threat to his life.

Khader is presently busy campaigning for the December 5 bypolls. According to a source the Congress leader, who otherwise prefers to be easily accessible to people, has agreed to avail the services of a gunman when he returns to Mangaluru at the insistence of the home department.
