Reportedly, Naveen, his wife Usha and son Chirag were sleeping in one room while Usha’s mother Vimala was in another room while the robbery took place. According to source, the doors of both the rooms were open. The thieves gained entry into the house by taking advantage of an open window and thereby opening the latch of the rear door.
After gaining access into the house, the burglars entered the room where Naveen was sleeping and relieved it of all the valuables therein. The stolen valuables include Usha’s mangalasutra weighing 6 sovereigns, another chain weighing three sovereigns as well as cash found in the purse.
Usha had attended a function during the day and had kept the jewellery on the table which became an easy game for the burglars. The thieves however left the imitation jewellery untouched.
