IGP visits Shiroor Math

Udupi: Western range inspector general of police (IGP), Arun Chakravarthy, visited the base Shiroor Mutt premises at Shiroor village, and its counterpart at Car Street in the city, and collected details of the ongoing investigation and progress achieved on Tuesday, July 24th.  

The IGP spoke with reporters after holding a meeting at the office of the district superintendent of police and said that no one has been arrested so far and that five teams have been formed to investigate the case. He assured that information will be given once post mortem report is received and that the reports appearing in a section of newspapers, television channels and social websites were only speculation he affirmed.

Liquor bottles found

It is said that on Monday night, the police found that a gunny bag containing unwanted items including empty liquor bottles in an unused well in the compound. It appears that the police are devoting most of their attention to the base Mutt at Shiroor.
