Injured Kangroos found abandoned in West Bengal forest; Probe ordered

Jalpaiguri: Three Kangaroos were reportedly found injured in the forested areas in Jalpaiguri in West Bengal on Friday night.
News agency ANI reported that three Kangaroos were rescued by the forest officials — two from Gajoldoba and another from the Farabari-Nepali area in the Dabgram forest range.
“We have initiated further investigation for ascertaining the whereabouts of these Kangaroos, by whom and how they were brought into the forest along with finding the cause behind bringing them,” the report quoted Sanjay Dutta, Ranger, Belacoba forest range under Baikunthupur forest division as saying.
The report further says that, on Friday night, the forest officials had found two Kangaroos during patrolling. The animals had some critical injuries on their bodies after which they were immediately brought to Bengal safari park for further treatment.
Meanwhile, a team has been formed to inquire into the matter, it added.
