Hubballi: A girl who it was claimed had become a victim of Love Jihad has denied the allegations while appearing before the police here on Thursday.
After the girl went missing, Hindu organizations had protested before the police station in Hubballi and Sri Ram Sena founder Pramod Muthalik had given the police a deadline to bring back the girl. The parents of the girl and Hindu organizations alleged that she has become a victim of Love Jihad.
The police investigating the case traced Sneha in Goa and brought her for inquiry to the Keshwapur police station in Hubballi.
However, in a new twist, Sneha gave a statement to the police saying she had fallen in love with Ibrahim and got married to him on February 11 in the sub-registrar’s office in Gadag district. She further said that she was staying with Ibrahim but his family did not know about it.
Her parents were allowed to speak to her and despite their efforts to convince her to return home with them, Sneha refused to do so. Police said that Sneha did not even consider her parent’s request to visit home for one hour to see her ailing grandmother.
