International standard cricket stadium in Puttur!

Puttur: Approval has been provided on the Deputy Commissioner’s level to provide 25 acres of land identified in Kabaka village for the creation of an international cricket stadium here. In order to guarantee the use of the land once it’s provided, the Revenue Department has KSCA to submit the blueprint and other details regarding the work.

The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) had submitted a request to provide land in Puttur with the aim to create a cricket stadium of international standards. 25 acres of government land with the survey number 260/1P1 located at Kabaka within the municipality limits, around 5 km from Puttur City Centre had been identified for the stadium.

Letter by KSCA to provide land

On July 22nd 2017, KSCA secretary R Sudhakar Rao wrote a letter to the Assistant Commissioner of Puttur sub division requesting the provision of 25 acres of land for an extended period on contract basis. Later, the revenue department identified the location. But since the identified land fell within the municipality limits, the then tahsildar wrote a letter to the municipality on Sep 28th 2017, requesting it to submit a no-objection letter regarding the providing the land on contract to KSCA. The municipality gave the NOC during the end of January 2018 after much deliberation was conducted during the municipality’s general meetings regarding the request.

Approval on DC level: Blueprint submission requested

Through a letter, the tahsildar has asked for the submission of details regarding the blueprint for the proposed work and bank account if the 25 acres of land is provided. Bank account details will be submitted. After the land is provided, the blueprint of the work to be undertaken there may be provided. It is impossible to submit it before that. In accordance to the request by the revenue department to provide NOC for the provision of land on contract basis to KSCA has been tabled at the general meeting and the no-objection certificate has been provided – Roopa T Shetty, Municipal Commissioner, Puttur Municipality
