Internationally acclaimed magician OP Sharma passes away

Uttar Pradesh: Popular magician Om Prasad Sharma, known for living in a ‘Bhoot Bungalow’ at Barra in Kanpur, passed away at a private hospital in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday, October 15, reportedly due to kidney failure.
As per the reports by a noted national media house, internationally acclaimed magician Sharma had performed over 34,000 shows in his career. Tickets for his shows used to be sold out in no time.
As per the reports, based on his name and fame, the Samajwadi Party had given him a ticket to contest the 2002 assembly polls from the Govind Nagar Constituency of Uttar Pradesh.
Later, in the year 2019, he joined the BJP.
Condoling his death, the Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Keshav Prasad Maurya tweeted, “I’m deeply saddened by the information received on the death of world-famous magician and resident of Kanpur Shri OP Sharma ji. He was a magician for the past several decades and was a ‘one man show’. May God rest the departed soul at his feet and give strength to the bereaved family and fans to bear the immense loss. Om Shanti”.
