New Delhi/Kasaragod: Mohammed Shahnas Alam Yane Shafi Usama (31) hailing from Jharkhand, Mohammad Warsi (28), and Mohammad Riswan Ashraf (30) from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, who were arrested from New Delhi and Uttar Pradesh are suspected of planning to establish an Islamic state module centered on Kasaragod, Kerala.

The investigation team has gathered information indicating that the arrested individuals were plotting to carry out extremist bomb blasts during the Navratri festival, targeting various locations across the country, including Kerala. The suspects were in the advanced stages of preparing for this act of sabotage. They had reportedly procured the necessary chemical materials, ammunition, timers, and remote controls to manufacture explosives. These materials were subsequently traced and seized by the NIA team.

It has come to light that the arrested trio were also affiliated with the ISIS terrorist organization operating in Pakistan. The investigation team has received information suggesting that they maintained regular contact with Pakistani handlers through various chat applications.

Following their arrest, the individuals have been remanded in judicial custody. To facilitate further investigation in this case, the Delhi Special Cell Police has taken custody of the suspects for a seven-day interrogation.

Disturbingly, the investigation team has learned that the three arrested individuals conducted bomb blast tests using explosive materials in forested areas of Karnataka, Goa, and Andhra Pradesh. Additionally, they ventured into the hilly regions of Kasaragod and Kannur districts, where they reportedly planted ISIS flags.

Given these revelations, the NIA is expected to extend its investigation into Kasaragod, Kerala, to uncover any potential links or activities related to the arrested suspects.
