Japiamogaru: Toddler drowns in floodwater

Mangaluru: An 18-month-old boy fell into floodwater and drowned at Jappinamogaru in city on Thursday, August 8.

The deceased toddler is identified as Anjan, son of Ravi and Jyothi couple who are from Kadur in Chikkamagaluru district. Ravi is a fisherman indulging in fishing in the nearby river daily for his livelihood.

According to the available details, as it was raining heavily outside Anjan was sleeping with parents in the evening when after some time, he got up and walked out from the house while his parents were fast asleep, accidentally fell into the floodwater near the house and drowned.

The corpse has been sent to a hospital for autopsy.
