Jay Chaudhry, Himachal man who once studied under a tree is among world’s top billionaires today

Jay Chaudhry, 62-year-old, the owner of the cybersecurity firm ZScaler has made his way into one of India’s top ten richest in Harun Global Rich list 2021. He climbed 577 spots in Harun Global rich list 2021.
Chaudhry and his family own 45% of the Nasdaq-listed ZScaler.
According to the Harun list, Chaudhry saw his net worth grow by 271% last year to $13 billion as video conferencing apps like Zoom or content platforms like Netflix helped his company.
Zscaler saw its revenue at $157 million for the second quarter of 2021, up 10% sequentially and 55% year-on-year.
Chaudhry grew up in Panoh in the Una district of Himachal Pradesh. He claims that the village had no access to electricity and that he studied under the trees.
Talking about the accelerated market shift towards work from anywhere, Chaudhry said, ” Zscaler was built for working from anywhere.”
