JD(S) releases second list of candidates

Bengaluru: The Janata Dal (Secular) discharged its second list with 57 party candidates here on Friday, April 20. The list incorporates the names of State president H.D. Kumaraswamy and working president P.G.R. Sindhia.
While the party had before the first list of 125 competitors, it is yet to report for 22 constituencies. It has dispensed 20 seats to the Bahujan Samaj Party as a feature of pre-poll alliance.
The party has declared Ramachandra as its contender for Rajarajeshwari Nagar. Ramachandra had joined the JD(S) alongside his little daughter-in-law and actress Amulya a week ago after the BJP denied him the ticket.
Among the party hoppers are the two-time BJP MLA, Prakash Khandre, from Bhalki, the former BJP MLA, Hemachandra Sagar, from Chickpet, and the former MP and actor Shashikumar from Hosadurga.
Ravi Patil, brother-in-law of Congress leader Sathish Jarkiholi, who was denied a Congress ticket, has been given Raichur Rural held for Scheduled Tribes. P. Ramesh has been fielded from C.V. Raman Nagar. The party has likewise fielded the former BJP leader Managaladevi Biradar from Muddebihal.
The party has chosen Sindhia from Basavakalyan in Bidar locale.
Kumaraswamy, who recorded his nomination papers from Ramanagaram on Friday, declared as the party candidate from Channapatna.
