Jt session of K’taka legislature from Jan 28 to Feb 5; Budget in March

Bengaluru: The State government has decided to hold a joint session of the Legislative Assembly and Council from January 28 to February 5 and the budget session in March.

The decision was taken at a Cabinet meeting held on January 13.

The Cabinet also approved the revision of property tax in all municipal corporations and Urban Local Bodies of the State except BBMP.

Property tax on residential buildings in Urban Local Bodies has been increased from 0.2 per cent to 1.5 per cent.

Taxes have also been reduced for properties with less than 1,000 square feet floor space.

Additionally, Rs 25 crore was also sanctioned for a cultural and heritage centre at Balagangadharanath Swamiji’s hometown of Banandur in the meeting.
