A case has been registered against officials of the Mangalore Electricity Supply Company (Mescom) at the Kadaba Police Station following the death of a lineman due to electrocution.
The deceased has been identified as Dyavanna Doddamani (26), who had been serving as a Powerman for the Kadaba MESCOM for the past 8 years.
The incident occurred when Doddamani climbed an electric pole for fixing a power supply issue at Taleki Road near Mulimajalu Kayaradka in Kadaba.
As he was repairing the line, he suddenly got electrocuted and got stuck on the pole. Locals who noticed the incident brought him down and rushed him to the Kadaba Community Health Center.
The deceased lineman’s father, Revanappa Dodamani, alleges that negligence on the part of Mescom officials led to his son’s untimely demise.
He has filed a case against Satyanarayan C.K., an assistant engineer of Mescom Kadaba and junior engineer Vasant claiming that his son was instructed to climb an electric pole without proper maintenance or assistance from senior officials, ultimately resulting in the fatal electrocution.
