Kadaba: Amid the ongoing Hijab controversy in Karnataka, video clippings of a few Muslim students offering Namaz inside a classroom surfaced on social media.
The incident is said to have taken place last Friday at the government school in Kadaba’s Ankathadka. Reportedly, the students, studying in classes 5-7 had been offering prayers in the classroom for the past three weeks. After the video went viral locals expressed outrage for allowing classrooms to be used for prayers.
As per a DHNS report, the school authorities denied knowledge of the same and stated that after the matter was brought to their notice they have directed the students not to indulge in such activities inside the classrooms.
The report states that the parents of these students had approached the school authorities to seek permission for their wards to visit Masjid on Friday to offer Namaz. The same was permitted with the condition that the parents accompany their children to Masjid and later drop them at school.
Meanwhile, officials from the education department visited the school to gather details on the incident.
